Mariann Bassey will update us on the role of civil society and food rights’ movement in the negotiations and on the outcomes of the 15th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, held in December in Montreal. We will then dive into the role of international aid and civil society in achieving climate justice, biodiversity and food sovereignty in the African context.
Mariann Bassey-Orovwuje is a Nigerian lawyer, environmental, human and food rights advocate. Mariann is the coordinator for the Food Sovereignty Program for Friends of the Earth Africa, among other things, chaired the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA).
