Job Description

The position is a support function to management and programme officers. As Afrikagrupperna’s Controller your main responsibility is to monitor and analyse partner organisations’ financial plans and reports as well as their capacity for compliance. In addition you are responsible for developing and maintaining internal routines for financial control related to our partner cooperations. As our Controller you will support management in decision making and be of assistance when formulating agreements and other relevant documents. It is important that you ensure accuracy in partner organisations’ financial reports and you are responsible for keeping management informed if uncertainties arise. As part of Afrikgrupperna’s finance team you will also assist your colleagues in day to day financial tasks when needed.

You will work with partner organisations from all five countries where Afrikagrupperna operates, and therefore it is of importance that you have full professional proficiency in English. Working proficiency in Swedish is required and knowledge in Portuguese is desired. As part of a global organisation you are expected to be humble and responsive to different cultural settings in your everyday work.


  • An academic degree in accounting and business administration or relevant field, or equivalent business experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience (preferably longer) working with financial analysis.
  • Experience of controlling.
  • Experience of presenting pedagogical reports and oral presentations.
  • Experience working with Excel.
  • Full professional proficiency in English, working proficiency in Swedish.


  • Knowledge in Portuguese.
  • Experience working with Sida and/or non-profit organisations.
  • Experience from working in, or equivalent knowledge of, southern Africa.
  • Experience working in/with international and intercultural teams.
  • Experience from solidarity work.

Practical Information

Extent: Full time (35 hours/week).

Placement: Stockholm. Some travels will occur.

Start: As soon as possible.

Collective Agreement: Afrikagrupperna follows the collective agreement for non-profit organisations between KFO and Unionen.
